We have always loved solving difficult problems. So when two former US Army veterans had to make the choice between retirement or starting up a business, we and our spouses both agreed that the latter was the best option. We packed up our combined experience in marketing and the mattress industry and went looking for just such a problem to solve.

Irwin (on the left) visited a small California tech startup called Hologenix a number of years ago and met with the founder Seth Casden. Seth explained that his company had developed and patented a next gen textile called Celliant® that was composed of thermo-reactive minerals that were shown, in clinical research, to capture the body’s natural energy and recycle it back as infrared light (IR). This IR light would act as a vaso-diolator to increase circulation by about 8% while one slept. This increase in blood flow would deliver more oxygen at the cellular level, to support faster recovery and deliver more energy the next day. Irwin was fascinated and decided there and then, to create a line of infrared enhanced sleep products that would deliver therapeutic benefits to everyone. Tom Williams agreed and that was the birth of BioPosture, the Doctor Recommended sleep products brand in 2017.

Today, 7 years later, thousands of licensed health care professionals offer our IR sleep products to their patients. So, Irwin and Tom have decided to create another brand that would bring Celliant health benefits to the general public through traditional channels of distribution. Thus, the formation of Paderna Therapeutics. To ensure American made quality, and continuity of production, Irwin and Tom formed a partnership with Carroll Galliher, the founder of Catawba Valley Fabrication, located in Claremont, NC.

Carroll has years of experience in foam fabrication and had just opened a new state of the art foam fabrication facility…Perfect timing!. It seemed to be ordained as our foam and our patented fabric were also produced in NC. So we moved all our operations for both brands into a business friendly state… We believe our products are made better in the USA.

Paderna now produces a 3″ BedTopper that is both comfortable and therapeutic in addition to our 12″ “Dual Comfort” ReCharge Mattress. The Topper gives consumers the opportunity to transform an older mattress by adding IR technology that supercharges the benefits of sleep, at a fraction of the cost of a new branded mattress. Our Mattress gives consumers two comfort choices in addition to the therapeutic benefits of our IR technology. And, we never use any toxic chemical flame retardants…

Thus, the birth of two new American sleep products brands that will alter the landscape in the category of sleep by giving consumers an economical alternative that offers evidenced based, clinically proven health benefits compiled from 10 peer reviewed clinical studies. In fact, the FDA has now determined Celliant products to be Medical Devices and General Wellness Products.
